1942 - HALF MOON BAY AIRPORT.
Half Moon Bay Airport was constructed by the California State Highway Department in 1942 for the United States Army during World War 2.
After the war in 1947 the Airport was turned over to the United States Navy, they used the facility for a period before the San Mateo County acquired the airport and turned it into a drag racing facility.
