1951 - DRAPER SPEEDWAY
Two years after opening the owners decided to pave the track surface, that would eliminate the dust and bring in more drivers and spectators you wold think. The problem was there was very limited spectator area so the gate takings were not good enough for the venue to make good money.
Nascar did sanction some minor events at the track but soon with-drew there support, The venue then changed hands again and again but to no avail.

1960 - BI STATE SPEEDWAY
In 1960 the name of the venue was changed to Bi State Speedway in an attempt to gain more attension. Over the next two years the track was starting to deteriorate and part of the grand stand collapsed, causing some spectators to fall, no one was seriously injured. That might have been the last nail in the coffin as the owners closed the venue in 1962.
