1979 - DUBLIN MOTOR SPEEDWAY.
Dublin Motor Speedway opened in 1979 as a 5/8 mile dirt oval speedway running Stock Cars and Modified Stock Cars. The track struggled through the late 1980's and closed the gates after the 1989 season. The track did reopen for just one season in 1993 before the gates were locked again. After a long closure the track was reopened again in 2005 and continued through until the end of the 2008 season. But there's more, another reopening in 2013. This is when the track was shortened. The programing would now consist of Late Model Sedans, Modifieds and Stock Cars. In 2015 the venue was handed a damage bill from a hurricane. The track managed to struggle through to the end of the 2017 season. At this point the track closed for the final time and sold off.
