Early newspaper reports suggest that Motor Cycle racing complemented Bicycle racing at Gilgai back as far as 1910.
Unconfirmed reports suggest two possibilities, a road course for both, or bicycles on a road course and motorcycles on the oval off Short Street.
The Sydney Arrow newspaper, dated December 23, 1927 printed the Bicycle Handicaps for the Boxing Day Carnival but no nominations for the Motorcycle races.
Many competitors from Bicycle's and Motorcycles had competed at Pratten Park Autodrome the Saturday before.
