1917 - MISSISSIPPI - ALABAMA STATE FAIRGROUNDS
Back in 1917 the Fair Board introduced motor racing event's at the Fairgrounds during it Fair days.
The racing became popular, so with the sanctioning of IMCA and SARA the race meetings became more regular.
In 1938 and with World War 11 looming the motor racing events were dropped by the Board.

1951 - MERIDIAN FAIRGROUNDS
In 1951 with World War 11 behind them the Board decided to re-introduce motor racing to the Fairgrounds, in the form of Stock Car racing. This was short lived with all racing ceased in 1952.
