1970's - ELDORA 1 MILE CIRCUIT
With the success of the half mile track at Eldora, Bates decided to undertake an additional project at the venue in the early 1970's.
He began to build a one mile track located just South-East of the current high banked oval, But it was at this time when one mile configurations were struggling, so Bates made the decision to halt the project, The project was never completed and it sits dormant on the property today.
