1987 - WEST AUSTRALIAN GRAND NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The year that the Port Hedland Speedway Club hosted to running of the West Australian Grand National Championship, The event was won by Ben Ludlow from the Perth Sedan Car Club, Local racer Bill Francis was involved in a crash during the event, writing off his AJN built car and he retired from racing.
