1930's - SEATTLE PLAYLAND AMUSEMENT PARK
The Seattle Playland Amusement Park opened in the 1930's. By 1941 the owners had decided to build a 1/4 mile speedway at the site to complement the Parks other activities.

1941 - AURORA STADIUM SPEEDWAY
The Speedway opened in 1941, only to close again in 1942 because of World War 2. By 1946 the war was over and the speedway reopened, running two nights per week, Hot Rods one night and Midgets on the other.
Sometime during this period the track surface was paved to entice the growing number of Stock Cars to compete. With the noise complaints starting to mount up the venue was forced to close 1958. The rest of the Amusement Park closed in 1960.
