1972 - ADELAIDE INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY
The complex known as Adelaide International Raceway was built by Surfers Paradise businessman Keith Williams in 1972, Williams also owned the Mallala Race Circuit and the Surfers Paradise International Raceway.
The complex boasted a Road Race circuit that was suitable for cars and motorcycles, A full quarter mile dragstrip that incorporated the front straight of the full road race circuit and a Super Speedway that was also paved and suitable for Speedway Super Sedan's Modified's and Nascar's.

From 1972 through to 1988 the Adelaide International Raceway was South Australia's premier motor racing circuit hosting rounds of the Australian Touring Car Championship and endurance races of the Australian Manafactuer's Championship, including the Australian Drivers Championship, Australian Formular 2 and Formular Ford Championship's, The Australian Sports Car Championship, Australian Sports Sedan Championship and the Australian GT Championship.
