1929 - DEER PARK SPEEDWAY
Deer Park Speedway opened in 1929 as a 1/2 mile dirt oval speedway, During its time a lot of drivers and spectators would loose their lives at the venue as the result of cars jumping the fence and ending up in the crowd.
Like most other tracks World War 2 caused Deer Park to close in 1941, The venue did re-open again in 1946 as a 1/5th mile paved track.
The problem was that the track owner had problems with the IRS and the venue, although being used fell into a state of dis-repair.
In 1948 the venue was forced to close because of local residents complaining about the track, This led to zoning laws changing, and the death of the venue.
