1953 - MONTANA STATE FAIRGROUNDS SPEEDWAY
By 1953 there was renewed interest in motor racing at the Fairgrounds. The Capital City Racing Association had built a new 1/4 mile dirt oval speedway within the previous 1/2 miler. The popularity of Stock Car racing made this venue a success, well that was until the nearby Valley Speedway opened. Simply put the Fairgrounds found it hard to compete, so the gates closed in 1956.
