1941 - MALLALA RAAF BASE.
The RAAF base at Mallala was built in 1941 because of World War 11, The base was used by the military up until it closed in 1960.

1961 - MALLALA RACE CIRCUIT.
The Mallala Race Circuit was built on the site of the former Mallala RAAF Base, the venue was built by a group of of enthusiasts as a replacement for the closing Port Wakefield Circuit, The venue opened on the 19th of August 1961, with the following meeting being the Australia Grand Prix.
The original track distance was 3.4km in length but reduced in late 1964 to 2.6km.
Mallala was South Australia's home of motor racing from 1961 through to 1971 and hosted a round of the Australian Drivers Championship every year through that period, The track also hosted The Australian Tourist Trophy in 1962 and 1968, and also the single 1963 Australian Touring Car Championship.

1971 - KEITH WILLIAMS.
By 1971 Adelaide International Raceway constructor Keith Williams bought the property and the venue was shut down with a covenant preventing motor racing.

1980 - MALLALA MOTOR SPORT PARK.
In 1980 former racer and South Australian Businessman Clem Smith purchased the properity and the Supreme Court lifted the covenant on the site, Declaring it unenforceable, the venue was then redeveloped and reopened for motorcycle racing in 1980 and car racing in 1982.
