1961 - CHARLOTTE MOTOR SPEEDWAY
On the 8th of December 1961 Charlotte Motor Speedway filed for bankruptcy. Judge Craven who was to rule on the matter, found a way of keeping the speedway open by appointing a trustee to attempt to trade the speedway out of its insolvent position.
By April of 1963 the trustee had managed to claw back around $750,000 in moneys it owed to several debitors, By 1967 the speedway was operating free of any debits.
