1928 - MORNA POINT BEACH SPEED TRIALSMorna Point is located at the Northern end of Stockton Bight north of Newcastle.
The first quarter mile speed trials held at Morna Beach were held by the Maitland District Motorcycle Club in August of 1928.
There were two classes of machines, over and under 350cc, with gold medals for first place and a tin of Benzzine for the runner up.

1937 - The next recorded meeting was in October of 1937, There were about 3000 spectators on hand.
1937 - Despite soggy conditions Jack Towner reached 100mph on his Ulster Rudge.

1938 - MORNA POINT BEACH SPEED TRIALS October 1938
A meeting was conducted in October of 1938, at this meeting Len Holliday on a Rudge set a new speed record at 109.7mph.

1939 - MORNA POINT BEACH SPEED TRIALS 19th February 1939
In February of 1939 the Newcastle Motorcycle Club hosted a meeting at Monta, Lance Wilson set the fastest time on the day.

On March the 5th 1939 the Newcastle hosted another event a Monta, Frank Bortkevitch set the fastest speedway in very poor conditions.

1939 - MORNA POINT BEACH SPEED TRIALS 5th November 1939
On the 5th of November 1939 the Royal Enfield Motorcycle Club hosted a meeting in very poor weather conditions, several riders crashed, the fastest time set at the meeting was by Len Holliday, some of the clubs regular riders were on military duties.

1939 - MORNA POINT BEACH NORTHERN DISTRICTS SPEED CHAMPIONSHIP 26th November 1939On the 26th of November 1939 a combination of two clubs, The AJS Motorcycle club, The Velocette Motorcycle Club hosted the Northern Districts Speed Championships.
Around 2000 spectators turned out to see Don Bain on his Velocette set a new speed record of 115.38mph.

In 1940 the AJS and Velocette Motorcycle clubs called for nominations for a meeting on the 15th April 1940 but there are no newspaper reports confirming it was run.

In 1940 the AJS and Velocette Motorcycle clubs called for nominations for a meeting on the 9th November 1940 but there are no newspaper reports confirming it was run.

1946 - MORNA POINT BEACH SPEED TRIALS 8th September 1946Because of World War 2 it meant there was an absence on many events, The military had also requestioned many private motor cycles for their use.
The next meeting was to be held on the 8th of September, but the poor weather had made the beach conditions far from ideal.
The postponed meeting was rescheduled to the 8th of December 1946.
1946 - MORNA POINT BEACH SPEED TRIALS 8th December 1946The rescheduled event went ahead on the 8th of December 1946, A report claims 5,000 spectators turned out for the meeting even though they were subject to a cold wind blowing all day.

1951 - MORNA POINT BEACH SPEED TRIALS 28th October 1951
The Maitland Motorcycle Club planned a meeting on the beach for the 28th of October 1951, but the results were not reported if indeed it went ahead.

1951 MORNA POINT BEACH MILITARY EXERSIZES
By now the military were using Morna Point for live firing exercises and warning people not to handle unexploded ordinance in the area.

1955 - MORNA POINT BEACH
On the 17th of October 1955 two boys were badly burned and injured when one of them kicked a shiny object in the sand which exploded. it was beleived to be Phosphorous flare.
