JT Jefferson recalls: My Grandma lives in the area. I visit her often and she has show me where it was and based on stories told by the locals the track was closed down because there was a house on the top of the hill and the owner of the house bought the track and closed it down because it was too loud. According to the locals, drivers such as Richard Petty raced there.
