1958 - RIVERVIEW SPEEDWAY
Murray Bridge car dealer and speedway indentity Kevin Fischer along with another local business man in Les Schulz started off Riverview speedway in 1958, The track location chosen was well thought out at the time, built on scrubland on the opposite side of the Murray River from town, the track was cut into the side of the hill and provided a fantastic spectators view of the track.

David Fischer recalls: Kevin Fischer saw the need for a speedway track in Murray Bridge. Kevin and his great mate Les Schultz purchased land and with much passion and hard work, established this track in 1958.
They designed the track to cut into the side of a hill to provide clear views of the entire track for other enthusiasts.
Looking back, they had hay bales to go around. In the above image Kevin shows his perseverance to compete even with three wheels.
This basic hot rod track wasthen sold to the Murray Bridge Sporting Car Club and Motor Cycle Club inc in the late 1950's.
Todays state of the art facilities are a credit to the ongoing dedication of Murray Bridge Speedway.
