1953 - AIR PARK SPEEDWAY
Located right beside Lake Michigan. The Speedway opened in 1953 as 3/8 mile, irregular Tri oval dirt track.
The program consisted of Stock Cars as well as Modifieds and ran on Saturday nights. As time oassed the Supermodifieds were introduced and racing was shifted to a Friday night.
Reports indicate that nearby Hartford Speedway, made some major up grades such as, increased banking and a track resurface. This would entice many drivers away from Air Park causing the Speedway to close in 1963.
