1988 - SOUTHERN CIRCUITSSpeedway Riders Association (South West Division)The growing interest in Sidecar racing in the South West became a problem, there were just too many racers and not enough starting spots on race nights, the situation was WA had a very high level of talented riders and passengers that would get automatic starts, Claremont, Bunbury, Collie, Albany were some of the tracks that Motorcycling Australia sanctioned.
Many country riders entering into the sport found themselves traveling to a venue to be elliminated from the nights racing after one or two events.
Enter Dave Harvey and Eric (Bolt) Blyth, these two as well as many others managed to convince Motor Cycling Australia of the merits of opening up more race track such as Margaret River and Manjimup to Sidcar racing as well as holding not so high profile events at Bunbury and Collie.
The Sidecar Rookie list simply exploded.

Brian Moyle recalls: At the time my job was to open up my workshop to the top 5 finishing cars after the Championship, There the crews would remove and strip the engines so I could measure them, The rules were quite open but the cubic inch of the engines could not exceed 323 cubic inch.
