AMAROO PARK CIRCUIT. The Vision.

1967 - AMAROO PARK RACEWAY.
Amaroo Park was constructed by Industrialist Oscar Glaser with the vision of creating a complete motor sport venue, Life for the complex started as a hill climb course, Later of the tracks introduced to the complex, A Short Circuit Dirt Track, A Flat Track Dirt Speedway, A Motocross track and then finally the sealed Road Course. A 1.2 mile circuit at Annangrove in NSW just out of Sydney.
The opening meeting was a Motor Cycle meeting only and that was held on the 26th of Febuary 1967.

1968 - AMAROO PARK CLOSES.
Traffic conjestion and poor access closed the track briefly in 1968.

1968 - AMAROO PARK REOPENS.
When the venue reopened it was under the control of the Australian Racing Drivers Club. The circuit hosted a wide range of racing including motorcycle, Formula 5000, Formula Ford and rounds of the Australian Touring Car Championship, the last being held in 1994.
The venue closed on the 23rd of August 1998 to make way for a housing development.

1977 - CHEQUERED FLAG MAGAZINE REPORTED.
SOUTHERN CROSS RALLY
As part of the 1977 Southern Cross Rally, the organisers held a special stage at the Amaroo Park venue.
