1929 - ELLISTON SPEEDWAYSSpeedway racing events in Elliston were organised by the Elliston Athletic Club, Reports show that annual events were held between 1929 and 1934 with competitors and spectators often travelling from great distances to attend.
1929 - LAKE HAMP RACE TRACKThe first meeting held was on the salt flats of Lake Hamp on the edge of town, A one mile circuit was mapped out, this meeting was rained out, but was re-run at a later date.
ELLISTON RACECOURSE
Racing did progress to the horse racing track after the salt lake events.
1934 - ELLISTON TOWN CIRCUITFor the 1934 event an area in the township was cleared especially for the event.
