The Sale and Districts Hot Rod Club was formed in the 1950's with the intension of building there own race track, This name would later be dropped for the more appropriate name of the Sale & Districts Motor Racing Association.

Thrills Without Spills
Another successful trial meeting was held by the hot rod club last week.Ferrari was the outstanding driver with his fast new car, at the next meeting to be arranged shortly a demonstration drive will be given by Ron Gorman, The club was given permission by the city council last Monday to hold two or three meetings and practices on the Sale common pending the completion of the clubs own ground. In last weeks events Ferrari won three of five heats, with Harvey and Butcher each taking a win also, Howell gained a second and Rodgers a third, Ferrari took the final with Butcher second and Harver third, In the teams event Ferrari and Bell beat Harvey and Butcher with Rodgers and Howell third. |
