1978 - BIBRA LAKE SPEEDWAY. Bibra Lake Solo Championship. TQ's. Junior Saloon's and Bibra Lake verses Ellenbrook Saloon Car challenge. 3rd September 1978.Glyn Taylor is Bibra Lake Solo ChampionThe Solo's featured on the program at Bibra Lake Speedway today with the running of the Bibra Lake Championship for these two wheel madmen. It was a fine win for the young son of a gun, that being Glyn Taylor, while in second place was Nigel Wilson and third Ross Townson.

Bibra Lake verses Ellenbrook Saloon Car Challenge. The racing was fast as always on this little tight track with the Heat 1 win going to Jim Sewell, Heat 2 Jerry Nixon and Heat 3 Chris Ferguson.
The A & B Saloons were combined increasing the size of the field's. Heat 1 was taken out by I Sutherland, Heat 2 Rod Bain from the Collie club and Heat 3 was another win for I Sutherland. The all in Feature race was won by Keith Higgs.
The Junior Saloon's put on a fantastic show with Heat 1 in the B Grade division going to Craig Vosbergen, Heat 2 T Frost and Heat 3 Andrew Foster. While in the A Grade Steve Schleicher won Heat 1 and Gavin Myer took out Heat's 2&3 as well as the all in feature.
The Formula 500's A and B division were also on the program with winner of the first and second A division race's was Billy Broadwood. the third race and the all in feature went to Ray Windon. While in the B division there were three different winners, Heat 1 Robbie Brown, Heat 2 P Irvine, and Heat 3 T Johnson.
Out of the two Ladies races held, there were two winners. J Doyle won the first race and Kerry Bain from the Collie Racing Drivers Association won the second.
