1928 - BUNBURY MOTORCYCLE CLUB
The first committee which would envolve into the Bunbury Motorcycle club was established in 1928 - 1929.
This initial group operated successfully right up until the start of the second world war, when most forms of motorsport was put on hold across the world, The Bunbury club was disbanded at this point.
This Bunbury club was reformed in 1945, with motor cycle speedway racing events held on a cinders covered dirt oval in a paddock at Moorelands, as time passed the club moved more into scramble and grass track type events, also run in the paddock at Moorelands.

1964 - SOUTH WESTERN TIMES NEWSPAPER REPORTED
3rd May 1964 - Robert Britza gives his Cotton Cobra motor cycle a helping leg during a race at the Bunbury Motor Cycle Club's scramble at its new course on the North Boyanup-road on Sunday. Over 45 top riders from all parts of the State competed in the scramble, which is held annually.
Robert Britza recalls: This photo was taken at the first event (an open event) at Shrubland Park on Sunday the 3rd of May 1964, The following Sunday, mothers day, was the end of my racing days because of horrendous injuries suffered during a race, My Cotton Cobra took off backward at the start of a race and in a hurry to catch the rest of the field after re-starting the bike, i lost control after the tabletop jump, the bike went one way and i went the other, unfortunately there was a banksia tree in my flight path that didnt give way, and that was the end of it.
Apparently if the timing was set too close to top dead centre, the motor could run in reverse which it did.
