1902 - COLLIE CYCLE CLUB
Records from as early as 1902 show that Collie had an active cycle club, Interested persons were pushing to have a track built around the Recreation Ground, This did not happen at the time but was achieved later on just prior to World War 11 when the Collie Districts Bicycle Club was formed.
The club has been through many ups and downs since 1902, closing and re opening many times, prior to 1955 the clubs activities revolved around the Recreation Ground track which had been sealed and the open road race events, in particular the Collie to Donnybrook classic.
