The first race meeting was held in 1949 at the Kalamunda Oval. Speedcar driver Bill Stitt being victorious on the day.

1950 - WEST AUSTRALIAN NEWSPAPER REPORTED
Another meeting was held on the 4th of September 1950 at the Kalamunda Oval. Featured drivers included #8 Jim Watt, #7 Bill Stitt and #2 Vic Harris.
Harry Lewis brought a halt to the meeting when he lost control and crashed down the football point post during a heat race, he later regrouped and went on to win the feature race.
