1926 - LAGOON TRACK (MOTORDROME)The Port Pirie Motorcycle Club was founded in 1924, and the first meetings were held from 1926 at a venue advertised as the Motordrome, but better known as the Lagoon Track, as it was in a shallow clay basin on the western outskirts of the town. Prior to the second world war, however, meetings were more often than not cancelled because of rain, floods or high tides.
