1978 - MOUNT PANORAMA. Hardie Ferodo 1000. 1st October 1978.BROCK & RICHARDS Win for HoldenPeter Brock notched up his third Bathurst win driving the Holden Dealer Team A9X Hatchback Torana. Brock was joined by Jim Richards for the big race.
Second place went to the Allan Grice and John Leffler combination who were also in a Holden A9X Torana. But by race end they were a lap down on the leaders,
The third step on the podium was taken up by the veteran racer Murray Carter and Graeme Lawrence in the first of the mighty Falcons.
