1962 - KEMBLA GRANGE SPEEDWAY
Kembla Grange Speedways construction started in 1962 and opened on the 26th of August 1962 on a 31 acre site ajoining the local horse racing track, the track was designed by a notable solo rider of the thirtee's in Cobden Jones.
Cobden in fact was based in England with the Royal Australian Airforce for a time and studied the Wembley Stadium, perhaps this is why Kembla Grange is often refered to as the Wembley of the south.
