1958 - DANVILLE SPORTSDROME SPEEDWAY
Opening as a 1/4 mile dirt track in 1958, The promoters wanted to run this very successfully and sold its self to the locals.
Its main appeal was to provide great racing and no dust, They would run everything from Hot Rods, Stocks to Sprintcars.
After two years, the owners decided to pave the track and it ran very successfully as they wanted, running Late Models and Supermodifieds.

The track originally saw big crowds, high speeds and great racing, but as time went on, the fields dropped and so did the crowd numbers.
After 1970, the pavement was torn up and returned back to a dirt track, but only after a small amount of time, the track closed in 1973, never to re-open.
