1966 - DOVER DOWNS INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
In 1966 the Melvin L Joseph Construction Company inc began planning for this project with construction well under way by 1967. Dover Downs International Speedway which was specialized for horse racing and Auto Racing, This big one mile asphalt paved race track was completed by 1969.

1969 - DOVER DOWNS INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
Dover Downs International Speedway opened for its inaugural race meeting, The Mason Dixson 300, on the 6th of July 1969. Richard Petty would win this event.
