1974 - HILLTOP SPEEDWAY
Hilltop Speedway or Rocky Top Speedway as it was also known was built by Curtis Hull just a few miles out of town on top of a high flat top hill.
The opening date was the 5th of April 1974. The track itself was a 1/4 mile D shapped clay speedway. The spectators were treated to a grandstand on the main straight that seated around 2,500 fans.
The track also went under the name of Rocky Top Speedway. It has been reported that that the speedway closed down in 1977 sometime.
