Carina Speedway was built in 1966 and opened on the 16th of June of that year.

1966 - SIDECAR FATALITY
On the 9th of October 1966 Sidecar rider Don Little and his passenger Colin Yarham were involved in a race accident, Don was to loose his life in the tragic crash.
Selecta Bing recalls: Yep my dad (Billy Bingham) was one of Dons best mates, Don lost his street licience so he put his Triumph Thunderbird on the speedway as a sidecar, Dad was his passenger in those early days prior to Don's death, I have the novice cup that they won in 1951.

1980 - RUSSELL REES
Russell Rees died as the result of a motorcycle accident on the 28th of June 1980 at the Carina Circuit.

Allan Baker recalls: Carina held some very large meetings, I think it was in 1984 when they held a Queensland sprintcar tital there, Gary Rush won it from memory, WA's Bob Kinnear finished third and maybe Peter Catastri second.

1998 - BUNDABURG SPEEDWAY SEDAN CAR CLUB
In 1998 the Bundaburg Speedway Sedan Car Club took over the control of the venue.

2013 - CARINA SPEEDWAY. Walkabout.
The venue hasn't operated since about 2005, the venue is for sale, but at a healthy price, its not just a race track, there's a lot of real estate that come with it, its just under one and a half million if your interested.
The venue is overgrown but all of the infustructure is still in place.
