1960 - WARWICK FARM RACEWAY
The Automobile Racing Company who ran the circuit opened the venue in December of 1960 and hosted many major events over the years.
The Australian Grand Prix was held at the circuit four times, Jack Brabham won the first one in 1963 in a Brabham BT4 Climax, the 1967 event was won by Jackie Stewart in a BRM P261 V8, 1970 was won by Frank Matich in a McLaren M10B Repco Holden and in 1971 Frank Matich won again this time in Matich A50 powered by a Repco Holden.
The Australian Touring Car championship was held at the circuit in 1968 and also hosted rounds in 1970, 1972 and 1973.
By 1964 the Warwick Farm Circuit was shortened from its original length of 2 1/4 miles.
Warwick Farm also hosted a round of the Tasman series every year from 1964 to 1973.
In all eleven Australian Drivers championship rounds were held in various years between 1963 and 1972.
One Australian Sports Car championship round per year was held at the circuit from 1969 to 1972.
Other events held were the Australian Manufactures championship in 1971 with Colin Bond winning in a LC Torana GTR XU1, Leo Geoghegan won the Australian Formular Junior championship in 1963 in a Lotus Ford.
In 1968 Warwick Farm became the finish line for the London to Sydney marathon, the event was won by Andrew Cowin, Colin Malkin and Brian Coyle in a Hillman Hunter.
The track closed in August of 1973.
