1961 - WIMBLEDON SPEEDWAY. World Speedway Championship Semi Final. 31st July 1961.RONNIE MOORE'S WINNew Zealand rider Ronnie Moore has taken out the British Semi Finals of the 1961 World Speedway Championship at Wimbledon on Monday the 31st of July.
Second place was also taken out by a New Zealand rider in Barry Briggs, who led home Bob Andrews and Peter Moore.

1979 - WIMBLEDON SPEEDWAY. ENGLAND v AUSTRALASIA Solo Test. 12th July 1979.England defeats AustralasiaEngland [61] defeat Australasia [47] in the first of five tests at Wimbledon Speedway.
The strong England line up would go on to win the series 5 - 0.
Staring for the England team would be John Davis on [13] points, Dave Jessup and Michael Lee both on [11].
For the Australasian team Phil Crump would top the points on [13] Larry Ross [12] and Billy Sanders on [11].
