1936 - MADISON SQUARE GARDENS BOWL.
In 1936 it was decided to run speedway meeting's on the main arena, this they referred to as the Bowl.
What a spectacle, Midget Cars racing wheel to wheel at break neck speeds, with no roll cages or any thought of safety towards these brave dare devils, crashes and deaths were very much a part of midget racing, that applied to both drivers and spectators.
The Speedway on this flat dirt, open air stadium only lasted for that one year of 1936 before complaints from nearby home owners made sure of that.
