BUNBURY GT FABRICATION TARGA BUNBURY SPRINT

2016 THE INAUGURAL YEAR
The inaugural GT Fabrication Targa Bunbury Sprint took place on the 25th and 26th of June 2016, This exciting motor sport event took place within the Halifax Industrial area, no doubt the fastest growing industrial estate within the Bunbury region.
Sanctioned by Targa West Pty Ltd and authorised by the City of Bunbury, The event attracted tarmac rally competitors from across WA, During the lead up to the event the organisers received major support from the press, so it was always going to attract a lot of spectators.
The Halifax sprint event is a simular format to the Malaga and the City of Perth special stages that are an exciting component of the annual Quit West 4 Day tarmac rally, As happens in Malaga many local businesses on the circuit took advantage of the event to set up their own corporate viewing areas.
2016 DAY ONE
Day one which was the Saturday saw the Targa Cars put on a fine display that night along the café strip in the main street of Bunbury.

Race day had arrived on the Sunday morning at Halifax, the official had set up early, the no go barriers were in place, also the catering vans, and the spectators were starting to drift in, The excitement started to build as the competitors formed onto the dummy grid, the start was nearing.

2017 BUNBURY TARGA SPRINT
Sunday the 25th of June 2017 saw the second running of the Targa Bunbury Sprint around the Halifax street coarse, The event featured many of the cars and drivers from the previous year as well as some new entries.
The format was changed from the entire entry list doing 4 runs anti-clockwise and 4 runs clockwise to the teams divided into 2 groups, Each group ran 4 runs in each direction over the coarse of the day
The reason given for this was to lesson the engine warm up times required.
2017 DAY ONE
Once again the main street of Bunbury was bursting at the seams, The show and shine was well received by the large crowd, The cafe's and Bar were flat out serving the influx, Once again a great night out.
