1970 - CLAREMONT SPEEDWAY
A supermodified (12) drivern by Alan Lukey hurtles over the top of another car driven by Terry Shipworth which has been smashed to a standstill in the supermodified event at Claremont Speedway, Shipworth's car had been rammed by two others driven by Colin Silverlock and Bob Ridley, The picture below shows Shipworth being taken out of his machine, Lukey broke a leg in the smash and was admitted to Royal Perth Hospital.

1970 - CLAREMONT SPEEDWAY. ENGLAND v AUSTRALIA 1st TEST. 20th November 1970.AUSTRALIA wins 1st TestA high quality Australian team of Solo rider has taken on the visiting British Lion's team and defeated them 58 points to 50 points tonight here at Claremont the Speedway.
Top scoring in the test match for the Australian's was, John Langfield on 13 point's, with Laurie Hodgson 12, Chum Taylor 11, Bob O'Leary 9, Les Sharpe 8, John Boulger 5 and Les Liesk 0.
Nigel Boocock top scored for the Lions with 15 points, Chris Pusey 12, Arnold Haley 12, Roy Trigg 5, Bob Kilby 4 and Ken McKinlay on 2 points.
The suporting divisions on the night put on

a fantastic show as always, with the cream rising to the top. The Speedcar feature was taken out by Keith Mann, The Formula 500's Johnny Anderson, Ray Geneve in the Supermodified was in top form as well as was Paul deLacey in the Production Car's.

1970 - TREVOR HUNT Speedcar'sTrevor Hunt was a local Perth man who built his own Holden Grey powered Speedcar at home in his shed.
Trevor was well respected for his engineering skills back in the day and was ofter called upon by other competitors to straighten cars after large bingles.
