Ronnie Moore was born in Hobart, Tasmania on the 8th of March 1933, His family moved to New Zealand when he was a very young child and that is why Ronnie concidered him self a New Zealander.
Ronnie began riding at the Aranui Speedway in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1949 at the age of fifteen, He then moved to England in 1950 and rode for the Wimbledon Dons up until 1956, During 1957 and 1958 his attension shifted to road racing, but he did ride again for the Dons in late 1958, staying with them until 1963, He broke his leg while racing in 1963 and was forced to retire until the mid 1960's.
Ronnie did start racing again in New Zealand and in 1969 signed with Wimbleton and reached the world finals at the age of thirty six, In 1970 he won the World Pairs Championship riding with Ivan Mauger, He retired from the British League at the end of 1973.
