1900 - ELECTRIC PARK RACEWAY
Electric Park Raceway was a 1/2 mile pear shaped dirt track that was originally built for horse racing. The horse track was part of an amusement park that sat on 24 acres of land.
The park was ahead of its time, as it boasted around eighty thousand electric lights lighting up the venue.
The owners entered into some motor racing, mainly cars, but not on a regular basis. Reports indicate these events were held between 1900 and 1911.
