1910 - OAKLAND MOTORDROME
Oakland Motordrome was a half mile round timber track built by Jack Prince, The track was banked at forty degrees. Construction began in 1910 but the big timber structure was damaged by a large storm, add to this a shortage of timber and the opening date was pushed out by about six months and into 1911.
1911 - OAKLAND MOTORDROME
It has been reported that around 5,000 spectators attended the opening meeting to watch a top class days racing. Reports also indicate that the entire first season was a success.

1912 - OAKLAND MOTORDROME
In 1912 one motorcycle rider lost his life when he was struck by a biplane while landing on the infield
It was in this season that competitor and spectator numbers fell away. This caused the owner Jack Prince to close down the venue and sell off the valuable timber that was the structure.
The track was built in the town of Elmhurst, Later Elmhurst merged with Oakland and the name would be lost forever along with the race track.
