By September 1998 the Grand Prix was gone and (AVESCO) Australian V8 Supercar Company announced that it had entered into a deal with the Government of South Australia to move its existing round from Mallala Raceway to the street circuit on a shortened layout.

2022 - ADELAIDE 500 STREET CIRCUIT V8 SUPERCARS 2nd & 3rd December 20221 - 2 for Chaz Mostert and Nick PercatChaz Mostert has led home Nick Percat after the completion of race one of the Adelaide 500. The Walkinshaw Andretti United pair made it Holden's 188th Championship race win in there final year. This race would also be Mostert's first Adelaide win and Percat's first podium for the year.
Third step on the podium was taken up by James Courtney.
For all the blue oval fans out there the news is all good for you as both Mostert and Percat will be staying with Walkinshaw Andretti United next year as the team crosses over to the Ford Mustang.
