1951 - JOHN HAMILTON SPEEDCARSJohn Hamilton started racing speedcars during the 1951 - 1952 season.
John would loose his life on the 15th of Febuary 1957 at Claremont Speedway, after his was involved in a multi car accident, he was driving the gold number fourteen car of George Bromley.

1951 - WINIFRED WELLSWinifred Wells the daughter of a furniture manufacturer was the first women to cross Australia from Perth on the West Coast to Sydney on the East Coast and back. A journey of 5504 miles done on a 350cc Enfield Bullet.
She departed on the 26th of December 1950 and returned on the 16th of January 1951, an incredible 21 day journey across a water-less exspance of sandy bush tracks.
