1960's - GAWLER BELT DRAGS
The Drag race meeting's that were held at Gawler were quite well attended, The cars raced one at a time against the clock down the strip to determine the class winners on the day.
Because of the success of these meeting's and wanting to get the racing of the public roads, Brooksfield Dragway was born.
