1961 - PEOTONE SPEEDWAY
In 1961 the track was reopened after a major upgrade. It is possible this is when the track was resized to a 1/4 mile. Allthrough the 1960's and 1970's racing at Peotone became very popular with the spectators and drivers alike. USAC sanctioned many major events through this period, which brought in some big name drivers. But for what ever reason the track was closed in 1979.
