West Australian and Queensland Scramble Champion Gordon Renfree has today been added to the Legends section of the Australian Motocross History website, joining the likes of Chad Reed, Jeff Leisk, Andrew McFarlane, Anthony Gunter, Glen Bell, Craig Dack, Trevor Williams and other Aussie Greats.
Gorden one of three brothers including Edgar and Jim who all raced bikes hailed from Bunbury in the South West of Western Australia, was one of Australia's top scramble riders in the 1960's, Winning Four National and Thirteen State Scramble Title's in Western Australia as well as Queensland in the 1960's.
In his first season of racing at just aged eighteen, in his first attempt he won the 1960 West Australian State 250cc Scramble Championship as well as the Australian 250cc Title onboard a BSA machine.
In order to win this National crown firstly Gordon had to drive all the way from Bunbury across the unsealed Nullabor in a 48 series FJ Holden to race at Authurs Creek in Victoria.
In 1962 Gordon won his second Australian 250cc Championship at the Rope Works circuit in Mosman Park, a suburb of Perth in Western Australia

1962 & 1963 - South West Sportsman of the Year
Gordon's number 14 race plate was now famous acros the country and in recognition of his achievments - in 1962 and again in 1963 Gordon was named the South West Sportsman of the year, while competing against champions in all sports.
But Gordon's most successful year would come it 1963 when he won the Australian Unlimited Championship at Archerfield in the greater Brisbane area in Queensland, He was also runner up in the 350cc Championship, Clinched all four Queensland State Championships at Beenleigh, 125cc, 250cc, 350cc. and 500cc classes, As well as the State 250cc and Unlimited Series in his home state of Western Australia and the Prestigious Harley Scramble.

2016 - GORDON RENFREE
In 2016, Gordon was inducted into the Motorcycling Western Australia's Hall of Fame.
