RED CLIFFS SPEEDWAY
Red Cliffs Speedway or Yandra Park as it was also known, was built by volunteers from the Red Cliffs Tq Car Club, as a 1/4 mile dirt oval track, opening in 1958.
The days program consisted of Motorcycles, Sidecars, Go Karts and Tq's.
As time passed the club introduced Stock Car and Modified racing events.
The Club closed the track in 1966 shortly after Timmis Speedway in Mildura opened.

Alan Streader recalls: I did race there on occasion, One meeting blowing the engine in the car.

Doug Comrie recalls: I was a member of and a driver of the Red Cliffs club since its inception through to its demise, we are doing a bit of history on the track and finding out that local identities are becoming more difficult to find as the original members all meet on a permanent basis in the local cemetery.
The above poster we used for publicity with Alan Streader and his barging front under, BH97 powered by a JAP engine, in full flight.
Another legend from Broken Hill that visited on a semi regular basis was Gidgie Stevens riding a solo bike, when he walked there was a funny squeaky noise i thought eminated from his leathers, turned out it was his knees, knackered from many years of prangs, Oh the memories, Thanks for nudging them again.
