1915 - TRI STATE FAIRGROUNDS
The start of auto racing in Iowa is beleived to have started at the half mile dirt track around the Tri State Fairgrounds in Burlington.
The AAA sanctioned championship had seven cars entered, Bob Burman would win in his Peugeot followed by the three Duesenberg's of Billy Chandler, Eddie O'donnell and Tom Alley.
It was just one month later that the new one mile timber speedway at De Moines was completed and motor racing left the fairgrounds forever.
