1966 - PETERSON MEMORIAL DRAGWAY
The Peterson family commenced 1/4 mile drag racing events at the sealed strip in 1966, These sunday afternoon meetings continued though until the late 1970's or early 1980's. It has been reported that the local Hot Rodders were still using the strip after the official closure, something that the local authorities turned a blind eye to.
