1950's mid - JOHN WOOD SPEEDWAY
John Wood Speedway or Ithaca Dryden Speedway as it was later known opened as a 1/3 mile dirt oval track during the mid 1950's.
Stock Cars as well as Modified Sportsmans featured at the venue initially, As time passed the Modified Sportsman's made way for the Late Model Sedans.

ITHACA DRYDEN SPEEDWAY
We are unsure of the date of the name change but it could have possibly been when the Late ,Models were introduced along with the figure eight racing and the very popular Demo Derby's
At the end of the 1966 season the track closed never to reopen again, The site now contains the Ringwood Raceway Go Kart track.
