1951 - SYDNEY SPORTSGROUND SPEEDWAY. 5th January 1951Friday the 5th of January at the Sydney Sportsground would go down in history as the dark time in Australian Speedway, This was the night that Ken Le Breton from Australia would suffer from massive head and internal injuries, after making contact with the rear of English rider Eddie Riggs bike, after contact Le Breton's machine carried on into the timber track fence.
Le Breton was taken to hospital but died of his injuries the following day, The sad part is that Australia had already wrapped up the International, The accident happened on the last lap of the last race while the two riders were dicing over third place.

1951 - SYDNEY SPORTSGROUND SPEEDWAY. Australian Solo Championship. 12th January 1951.Jack Parker wins Runners up tieThe Solo's featured here tonight on the Sportsground, with the running of the Australian 4 lap Championship.
The racing was fierce, especially from Englishman Jack Parker the current champion who won it last year.
With the racing concluded and the point's tallied it was Parker retaining to title and a tie on points between Aub Lawson and Tommy Price for second place.
